On Monday, 20 July 2026, in the presence of members of the University Council, Dr. Diyar A. Saeed, President of the University of Zakho, received Mr. Shivan Mahmood, Secretary of (Y.Q.L.D.K.), and his accompanying delegation at the University Presidency.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on a number of key issues related to students' academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities at the University of Zakho. Discussions also focused on preparations for the forthcoming academic year and the measures undertaken to ensure a successful and productive start to the new academic session.

During the meeting, the Secretary of (Y.Q.L.D.K.) highlighted the significant role of students from the Zakho Independent Administration, emphasizing their strong academic potential and outstanding capabilities. He noted that sustained support and encouragement would further strengthen their skills and empower them to become active contributors to the social, educational, and economic development of the region and the country.

In turn, Dr. Diyar A. Saeed expressed his appreciation for the organization's initiatives and its continued engagement in supporting students. He reaffirmed the University's commitment to fostering constructive partnerships and to supporting initiatives and projects that promote academic excellence, enhance the quality of higher education, and contribute to the intellectual, cultural, and social development of students.
